Genesis Chapter 5

  1. Adam was 130 years old when Seth was born.


  2. Altogether Seth lived 912 and then he died.


  3. Seth was the father of Enosh. When Enosh was 90 years old he became the father of Kenan.


  4. ALtogether Kenan lived 910 years and then he died.


  5. Kenan was the father of Mahalalel who was the father Jared who was the father of Enoch.


  6. Altogether Enoch lived 365 years and then he walked with God and was no more.


  7. Altogether Methuselah lived 969 years and then he died.


  8. When Lamech lived 182 years, he had a son who was called Noah.


  9. Altogether Lamech lived 777 years and then he died.


  10. Noah's three sons were Shem , Ham and Japheth.


Rick's thoughts:
While this might seem like a boring chapter with no action, there are still some interesting hightlights. First, the people lived to extraordinary ages and it seemed like they first had children at what we would say is an old age. Enoch is one of only two people who did not die. (Elijah was the other) In earlier times keeping track of where you came from was very important. You might ask your parents or grandparents if they have information regarding your ancestors. This is referred to as you geneology (or family tree.)
